St Thomas in the valley

An iconic country church is nestled into the hillside along the Minnesota River southwest of the Twin Cities. Many of the gravestones indicate that the parishioners came from Ireland, and I only found out after the fact that some of my sister-in-law's Irish family worshipped here.

Interesting. I didn't know a lot if Irish ended up in MN. You hear mostly of Scandanavian and German.

News to me too. I am of Irish descent, could in theory get a green passport, but not many people would guess that this is the case. Not something I really push or discuss endlessly.

St. Paul, in particular, has a very strong Irish community. Got some great pubs with lots of good music.
