Rockabilly beat

I'm starting something new today. Following on the theme-based posts that made Happy Snappy a popular blog for several years (sadly, they have closed shop), I will chose a weekly theme and post photos Monday through Friday that explore that theme. Weekends will remain open to whatever I find interesting. The theme will undisclosed until the weekend following the posts, but if you care to make a stab sometime during the week, be my guest.

Here's the first post for the week of July 25-29 taken at Club Underground. The bassist of Al's Rockabilly Quartet (which was actually a trio the night I saw them) strums a mean beat.

Walking through the Macalester campus the other day and spotted the source of the music right there in front of the student center.

Mean drummin'

Normally the blur I get when taking photos in low light just looks like the subject is out of focus but I love the sense of energy of this photo of the 99ers' drummer.

Guitar

Played a gig on the local Fresh Air radio station, KFAI, a few weeks ago. Snapped this shot of the guitarist's vintage-looking instrument. This might be a Danelectro? I could be totally totally wrong. I know next to nothing about guitars.
