Digging out the hydrants

The St. Paul Fire Department has put out a call for city residents to help dig out the fire hydrants that have been buried under mounds of plowed snow. A recent email came with a map of the city showing where the hydrants are. I had no idea there were so many - virtually on every corner. This one and its mate across the street are ready to do their duty.

Yes, we got a voice mail re. this, but no email. I'm surprised at how few hydrants are cleared, esp after the three deaths from fire right after the big blizzard. Now the snow is packed and solid as ice.

There are actually 3 fire hydrants on our block. I've never noticed them but they are there when you need them. Glad to see you are back from your convalescence.

Interesting story. I 'collect' fire hydrants - would you mind if I linked to this post from my blog?
