Dorothy Molter Museum
One of the oddest little museums I have ever visited--about "The Root Beer Lady" of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Check it out at their website.

Thunderstorm
Shot this at a gas station outside of Virginia, MN. For some reason, the lights and colors from the gas station really set off the deep purples in the sky that afternoon. We drove on out before the storm broke, but I bet it was spectacular.

Marshall Blocks
Neat block letters against the Minneapolis sky. This is a cement-making business, or something like that.

Reflections, part 3
Walking around downtown Minneapolis near the new Target Field spotted this nice reflection of buildings in buildings.

401
A walk through Minneapolis near Target Field revealed this sign on the side of an apartment building. Love these things and they're all over the Cities.

iconography
I just had my first Grain Belt Premium the other night. I can't believe I've held out this long since it's become one of the hipster brews of choice in my native Twin Cities. It was not as vile as I had imagined it would be. I still think it's a terrible name, but I love this sign above Nicollet Island in Minneapolis.

Sidewalk
Some enterprising individual decided to put in random poems all over the Cathedral Hill neighborhood when they were redoing the sidewalks. The first time I came across one, I was so utterly enchanted that I read it over and over again for about ten minutes. This is my favorite of all the ones I've seen so far. I actually laughed out loud when I read it.

Apple Store in NYC
Passed this Apple Store on the Upper West Side. IT BLEW MY MIND. This is just the play area of the store! The actually products are hidden away in a whole other room downstairs! Insanity. And yet I want to go there so bad.

Reflections, part 2
A bit of a cheat. I posted this one earlier in June but that was before I found out the July theme day is reflections. So I'm posting it again. Because I like it. This is the Landmark Center reflected in the Travelers Insurance building in downtown Saint Paul.
